We do not have a fixed itinary, we design the itinary around your interests and personal likes. This is a itinary which we had designed for Dr. H.S Chawla & Family (Birmingham UK) in June 2007.
Day 1 Delhi: Received at New Delhi airport by our Executive and escorted to Hotel The Imperial, Janpath, New Delhi (incidentally The Imperial is the most luxurious hotel in New Delhi for more visit www.theimperialindia.com ). Greeted at the hotel with Traditional Indian Welcome Pooja (Prayer). At the hotel you will be provided with a Cellular Phone with International Dialing and a Laptop to access the internet. The Phone & Laptop will be with you for the rest of the trip. Relax at the hotel to beat Jet Lag. Afternoon & evening is free for any activity you desire to do. Our executive will be a phone call away 24 hours during the entire trip.
Day 2 Delhi to Manali: Fly to Kulu on chartered Super King Air B 200 flight. Our executive will accompany you and take care of baggage etc. From Kulu we drive to Manali in our SUV accompanied with our Support Truck carrying Baggage and Camping gear. Overnight at hotel in Manali.
Day 3 Manali to Jispa: Start your overland journey and drive to Jispa. This high altitude road beyond the great Himalayan range, connects the densely fertile and green Kullu valley to the stark barren region of Ladakh. The drive starts at Manali slowly winding up mountain roads till Rohtang Pass (3,950M) which connects the Kullu to the Lahaul valley. On entering the Lahaul valley you see a distinct change with the Hindu influence being replaced with the Buddhist religion highlited by Chortens & Gompas. Continue drive to Jispa via Keylong. We have packed lunch enroute. 7 hours driving time. We cook fresh dinner and sleep overnight in tents.
Day 4 Jispa to Sarchu: We leisurely drive over the scenic Barala-cha Pass (4880 M). We make plenty of stops to capture the scenic grandeur of this majestic landscape dotted with snow capped peaks and high altitude lakes. After crossing the pass drop down to the vast Sarchu plains . 6 hours driving time. We cook fresh dinner and sleep overnight in tents.
Day 5 Sarchu to Tso-Moriri via Tso-Kar: After breakfast we drive to Tso-Kar (Kar Lake), It is a day where we will cross a number of passes starting with Bara Lacha La (4955M). After coming down from Bara Lacha La climb up the Gatta Loops, a series of 21 hairpin bends carved into the mountainside and then after descending once again wind our way up the Lachung La pass (4985M). From here the road twists its way to Pang through an amazing canyon with sheer cliffs and rocky outcrops looming up on both sides of the road. Drive to Tso-Moriri via Sumdo . TsoMoriri lake is also called as white lake because of salt deposit around it. It is approx 45 kms northwest of the Tso -Kar. We have packed lunch en-route. Sumdo to Tsomoriri is one of the most interesting drives as it goes through sandy deserts & rocky paths. After slowly zigzaging up to the Namshang-La, the drive follows a smooth descent and drive past the isolated Thasang Tso - a small torquoise lake which appears like an emerald. 8 hours driving time. We cook fresh dinner and sleep overnight in tents.
Day 6 Tso-Moriri to Leh: After breakfast we drive to Sumdo and Chuma – Thang (3965M). Enroute stop at Mahe Bridge from where the road crosses to the south bank of the river by a bridge; it then follows the unmetalled road through Sumdo village up to join Puga stream. The drive from Sumdo to Mahe follows a narrow mountain gorge through green bushes. Chuma-Thang is known for its famous hot water springs having medicinal value where people come for relieving their pains. We drive past villages of Nurnis, Kery and Kadgam. Finally we reach Leh in the evening. 8 hours driving time. We have dinner and retire in the hotel.
Day 7 Sight Seeing at Leh: Enjoy a short trip to the famous monasteries. Visit early in the morning to enjoy the praying ceremony at Thiksey monastery.We have arranged for a personal prayer for your group. Continue drive to Hemis monastery, which is one of the most famous monasteries of the Ladakh region. On the way back, visit the magnificent Shey Palace. Spend the night in the hotel.
Day 8 Leh to Hunder: We leave leh early morning for Hunder & Diskit in the amazingly beautiful Nubra Valley. On our way we stop at the Mighty Khardungla Pass (5604M). This is the highest motorable road in the world. We continue our drive to Hunder via Khardung and Khalsar. 7 hours driving time. We cook fresh dinner and sleep overnight in tents.
Day 9 Sight Seeing at Nubra: We visit the famous sand dunes at Hunder. Here we get to see the double humped Bactrain Camels. You can also have a camel ride if you fancy. Then we leave for the hotwater springs at Panamik. We cook fresh dinner and sleep overnight in tents.
Day 8 Hunder to Leh: We drive back to Leh once again crossing the mighty Khardungla pass (5604M). 7 hours driving time. Spend the night in the hotel.
Day 9 Sight Seeing at Leh: (As per your instructions, 4 adults will be following this itinary meanwhile 2 adults and one child will go for Kayaking at Nimmu.)Visit Leh Palace. Later as desired by you we have fixed up for lunch at a Ladakhi Family where you will be served traditional Ladakhi delicacies. In the evening we have a troupe of 16 Ladakhi dancers who will be performing Ladakhi Folk dances for 2 hours exclusively for you. Finally bon-fire and grand Kashmiri Dinner.
Day 10 Fly from Leh to New Delhi: We take off from Leh Airport at 8:00 AM for New Delhi in Chartered Super King Air B 200 flight. We escort you to Hotel The Imperial. You can spend the day as you like. Our executive will be with you. At 0:00 hrs we escort you to New Delhi international airport. Your flight BA 142 departs at 2:10 hrs.
As per your instructions we have arranged for:
1. Satellite TV with CNBC, BBC & CNN channel and World Space Radio.
2. Museli & cereals with milk, Fresh Fruit, Juice, Breads with Cheese, Butter & preserves for breakfast every morning.
3. Lunch as per your instructions every day.
